We Must Not Become Silent Witnesses

These are some of the important reasons why we need to pass legislation we call:

The Anti-Christianism Awareness and Prevention Act

The time is now for the passage of legislation on combating anti-Christian hatred in the USA.  The fight against anti-Christian hatred must be conducted in the same way we combat hate against the Jewish members of our community.  It is not a question of victimism but equal access to tools of protection for fundamental rights.

The right to freedom of religion, as well as provisions to fight against discrimination on the grounds of religion, should not be seen only through the prism of protecting faith communities that are religious minorities.  It is necessary to break the ‘majorities vs. minorities’ dynamic that underpins the approach of certain actors and policymakers.  We need to ensure equal protection to all dimensions of this core fundamental right, including the institutional one.

Too often, freedom of religion is depicted as a ‘problematic’ right, and its collective dimension, compared with its individual dimension, is neglected. The need to protect places of worship and data of a religious nature as well as to better integrate the defense of religious freedom into U.S. policies is urgent in light of the current trends of rising religious intolerance in the United States. Therefore, we ask you to join us in stopping anti-Christianism in the United States and beyond.

We urge you to join this alliance to help us protect all Christians who are striving to obey the Lord’s commission to demonstrate the love of God to all people everywhere.  We must work to stop anti-Christianism before anti-Christianism stops the love of God from being demonstrated far and wide to the multitudes in need. All Christians are directed by Jesus Christ to love our neighbors in observable, practical ways. Jesus described our neighbor as any and all people in need. Jesus even said that we Christians are to love our enemies. He said that we are to let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.

The Holy Bible also says the following about Christians doing good works:

“And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”

“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”

“Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.”

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

“…The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

However, there is an evil movement rising up in the United States and around the world that persecutes, humiliates and even kills Christians. The purpose of this evil movement is to spread hate concerning Christians and to intimidate and stop them from demonstrating good works and loving actions, which show the love of God for all people.  Scripture also teaches the following: “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.”  It is the goal of this evil movement against Christians to shut us down in fear by causing us to lose heart in doing good to all people, especially to our fellow Christians who are experiencing great loss, hardship and martyrdom in other countries.

We must not become silent witnesses due to persecution! Our Lord calls us to publicly proclaim His love for all humanity through our words and good works.  We must continue to obey this command. The concept of obedience to God’s commands is closely linked to good works in the Bible. Believers are called to obey God’s instructions to love one another, care for the needy, and seek justice. Good works are seen as a way to demonstrate obedience to God and live out His will. Additionally, good works are seen as a way to show love and compassion towards others, to care for the needy, and to be a light in the world.

The Bible teaches that love is the greatest commandment and should be the motivation behind all good works. Consequently, good works done out of love for God and others are commanded by God!  This means that every Christian must not be intimidated and hindered from fulfilling his and her duty to follow Jesus Christ’s commands.  Sacrificial love is the driving force behind acts of kindness, generosity, and service; and this obedient love from the heart must not be shut down!  Ultimately, the Bible teaches that good works are an essential part of the Christian life and are a way to live out one’s faith in a tangible and impactful way.

However, this is becoming more difficult to accomplish just as Jesus Christ predicted in the Bible when He said this:  “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”  Therefore, we must do all we can to demonstrate God’s love to all people until the end, even though the forces of lawlessness continually seek to hinder and stop the manifestation of God’s love through the Lord's Christian followers!

In an effort to forestall this evil work of darkness that attempts to hinder Christians from knowing and sharing God’s love we must follow this Bible command: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”  The good we intend to do that will protect Christians and forestall this evil movement from hindering the Christian demonstration of God’s love is to work to pass legislation that we call “The Anti-Christianism Awareness and Prevention Act.” This information explains our God-ordained effort.
